In today’s edition, Nice Matin dedicates two particularly interesting pages to the Islamist attack on July 14th. It reveals that the attack had actually been planned for at least a year, and also that the terrorist “sometimes attended the Las Planas mosque.” This contrasts with the narratives heard after the attack and the so-called “rapid radicalization.”
The Las Planas mosque (Nice Nord) is a member mosque of the Union of Muslims of the Alpes-Maritimes, which is the local federation of the Union of Islamic Organizations of France (UOIF). The UOIF is the French offshoot of the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood, a movement banned in several countries, such as Egypt and Jordan. Locally, however, it is indeed with the UMAM-UOIF that the municipality of Christian Estrosi has forged privileged ties, establishing two mosques in municipal premises and even directly funding the youth association of the Islamist organization with Nice taxpayers’ money. With Christian Estrosi’s support, this movement now dominates the majority of the 19 mosques in Nice.
While no direct causality can be established, this information – the terrorist’s attendance at a mosque directly linked to this politico-religious organization – cannot be treated lightly.
I remind you that the National Front has been demanding the ban of the UOIF since 2012, and I personally got the municipality condemned by the Administrative Court in 2013 for its relations with this extremist association (underestimated rent of the Nice-center mosque). It is more urgent than ever that the Estrosi-Pradal municipality ends its compromises and collusion with the Islamists!
