Condemning an “authoritarian and unjust” measure by the government, the regional councilor from the RN joined the front of the protesters: “I have decided to add my signature to the petition launched by the Federation of Associations of the County of Nice against the merger of the school districts of Nice and Aix-Marseille.”
“This merger would be disastrous and would place the entire educational system of the Alpes-Maritimes and the Var under Marseillaise control,” stated the elected official, well known for his “nissartitude” (local pride in Nice).
He took the opportunity to criticize Christian Estrosi and his resignatory attitude, at least in his opinion: “By meekly requesting that the headquarters of this future Nice-Aix-Marseille academy be located in our city (a request that has no chance of succeeding), Christian Estrosi has in fact already given up.”
