This inauguration took place on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, in the presence of Charles Ange Ginรฉsy, President of the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Council. He was accompanied by Gilbert Martinelli, Mayor of Pierlas, Anne Sattonnet, Vice-President of the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Council, Municipal Councillor of Vence, Metropolitan Councillor of Nice Cรดte d’Azur, Francis Moya, Mayor of Rigaud, and Denise Leiboff, Mayor of Lieuche.
The work was entirely funded by the departmental council. The aim is to ensure the safety of the residents who regularly use this path and to better attract tourists to the village: “the trucks regularly destroyed the bridge’s parapets. This work is also essential for developing tourism,” according to Gilbert Martinelli.
Before this renovation, there was only a single lane. The bridge was also narrow, with only a width of 2.80 m and 2 parapets surrounding it. From now on, there will be two lanes, increasing the width to 4.80 m. For the departmental community, these improvements are a necessity.
“As a local authority, we responded to the Mayors’ call for the completion of these works, once again reaffirming our solidarity with the municipalities. The preservation of the tourist attractiveness of the municipalities is paramount for the Department.”
At the end of the ceremony, the Mayor of Pierlas didnโt hesitate to have his little promotional moment: “Don’t hesitate to invite people to Pierlas to discover this beautiful village!”
