The organizers hope to see many French and foreign visitors this year once again getting into the swing of the event… Numerous “pilous” and prizes from the City of Nice will be distributed. Similarly, the François Giordan Juggling Trophy will be up for grabs. Calling all enthusiasts!
On Sunday, September 12th at 1:30 PM, the grand tournament, eagerly awaited by all, will take place. A number of teams will first compete in pools of four, then in a knockout format. Beautiful cups and many prizes offered by the City of Nice will be awarded to all participants.
This event will be held in the context of the San Bertoumiéu fair in Old Nice.
What is Pilou?
A “game that costs nothing,” as goes the song by Nux Vomica. A perforated coin, preferably the old 10 centimes, and a piece of paper make up the shuttlecock. It is played by teams of two on a field drawn in cross-shaped lines with chalk. The aim of the activity is to “fly” the shuttlecock, using only feet, knees, and chest, akin to football, to make it land in the opposing field in circles one meter in diameter.
