They were more than 5000* from the LGBT community (lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgender people) marching yesterday in the streets of Nice for the Pink Parade.
In a festive atmosphere, the procession paraded for two hours with this year’s slogan: “same duties, same rights.” For years, Nice has hosted one of the largest and most active LGBT communities outside of Paris.
Starting around 5 PM under a very generous sun, with departure from the “Tête carrée” and arriving on the TNN forecourt after a long journey along the city’s main streets, the event took place in a festive climate, accompanied by deafening techno music.
Before the start of the parade, the organizers reminded the crowd of activists and supporters of all ages of the main demands: “the end of discrimination during adoption approval requests and for same-sex parenting, and the possibility for homosexuals to donate blood without having to lie.”
There were no incidents or disturbances reported.
