Nice and the Italian city of Trento have just been selected as pilot sites following the call for projects from EIT Digital (European Institute of Technology) “ESSENCE,” won by Nively, a start-up from 27 Delvalle. This program aims to experiment with new solutions in 2017 to prevent the loss of autonomy among the elderly.
Today, Nice is positioned and recognized in Europe as a pioneering smart city in the field of connected health and the silver economy.
The City of Nice and its CCAS will test the “Mentorageยฎ” technological platform during 2017. The digital sensors installed in the senior’s room or apartment can automatically detect in real-time situations where the person is in danger (fall, wandering, elopement…) and then alert those who can provide assistance.
“Mentorageยฎ” enhances the safety of the elderly. This platform will be tested in one of the residential homes of the City of Nice. The experimentation in Nice will allow further improvement of this product, which is intended to be widely implemented in facilities accommodating individuals with loss of autonomy.
Moreover, Nively has been awarded the “European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing” label for its Mentorageยฎ platform, which will equip “Essence.”
