Created in 2008 at the initiative of Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice, to further involve civil society in the decision-making of the City of Nice, the Communal Consultative Council held its plenary assembly under the chairmanship of Marie-Dominique Ramel.
The role of the Communal Consultative Council is to prepare proposals and projects that will then be submitted to the Municipal Council, as it is important that any ambitious project for the city involves civil society and its representatives.
Comprised of 69 members, this council is structured into commissions led by Marie-Claude Digeon, president of the “Sport-Youth-Culture-Nice Identity” commission, Hervรฉ Cael, president of the “Solidarity-Health-Family-Disability” commission, Tahar Saiah, president of the “Sustainable Development โ Housing โ Transportation” commission, and Jean-Paul Nivoix, president of the “Economy โ Security โ Commerce โ Craftsmanship” commission.
On the occasion of this assembly, Christian Estrosi reiterated his commitment to participatory democracy and confirmed the topics on which the Communal Consultative Council will work:
- The revitalization of Nice’s retail sector in the city center
- The Royal Road Nice-Turin with a more general reflection on the theme “Nice, Baroque City”
- Digital accessibility
- Seniors in Nice
