The Ministry of Labor counts 34,900 additional job seekers in category A, meaning those who have no activity.
The unemployment figures continue their seesaw pattern in 2017. After a slight decrease in June, the number of job seekers in category A shows an increase of 1% in July, according to figures released by the Ministry of Labor on Thursday, August 24.
This increase corresponds to 34,900 additional unemployed individuals: in total, there were 3,518,100 in category A in July. Over the year, the number of job seekers in category A has remained almost stable (+0.1%), but the trend over the last three months is clearly on the rise (+1.3%).
The unemployment rate increased by 1.1% in the Paca region, which is higher than the national level. Today, there are just over 328,600 unemployed individuals in the Paca region.
