Police officers violently attacked in a neighborhood of Nice

Latest News

After the knife attack in Cannes, assaults on CDI members in Les Moulins, and the attack on a plainclothes officer in old Nice, it seems that such violence is on the rise.

On Monday night, around 11 p.m., anti-crime brigade (BAC) officers were violently attacked near the Route de Turin while they were on a mission as part of an anti-drug trafficking operation.

While they were pursuing a suspect in an eastern district of Nice, the law enforcement officers were attacked by several individuals who were attempting to stop the ongoing operation.

The police officers were assaulted with pétanque balls and a Molotov cocktail, which fortunately did not catch fire. A woman reportedly punched one of the officers, injuring him in the nose.

To escape from this violent attack, reinforcements were necessary for them to reach the Auvare barracks. The result of this attack: three people were taken into custody.

After the recent attacks against law enforcement in the region—including the knife attack in Cannes and a knife thrown at a peace officer in Grasse—it seems that this violence is only increasing.
