The organizers of the Port Festival aim to make this day a gathering of friendliness. The restaurants will open their terraces and offer dishes for five euros. This evening, with festivities starting at 7 PM with entertainment and concerts in a range of styles (from French ballroom dance music to rock), culminating in a fireworks display at 10:30 PM, aims to reposition the port site at the heart of the city of Nice.
“Lou Festin Dou Pouort” is a festive and popular event intended for the people of Nice but also for anyone who enjoys going out. This year’s theme revolves around natural elements (air, fire, earth, water). In the framework of this 3rd edition, a village of renowned chefs and pastry chefs will be set up under the sponsorship of the Slow Food Movement. This organization promotes an appreciation for taste and quality worldwide, advocates for food safety, promotes biodiversity, and the preservation of endangered products. “Slow Food Southeast and Principality of Monaco,” chaired by Jean-Pierre Rous, Master Sommelier, and its Managing Committee will oversee quality artisans who will showcase French and Italian products: Jean Tonelli (organic olive oil, La Clémandine), Rossana and Pascal Chapeau-Irtelli (Aceto Balsamico, Leonardi), David Dalmasso (La Cambuse, magnificent Italian products and wines), the Malongo Coffee Roaster, and its Fair Trade-sourced beans.
The 2006 edition of the port festival joins this commitment to fight against indifference and lack of knowledge about food products by setting up a taste workshop at the Quai des II Emmanuel. In a village of tents, prominent local chefs will be present, including:
– Mr. Christian PLUMAIL Restaurant: “L’Univers”

– Mr. Laurent BROUSSIER Restaurant: “Palais Maeterlinck”
