Pouring concrete in the Var plain: Goodbye eco-valley, hello concrete valley!

Latest News

The development of the Var plain is not to the liking of Robert Injey, the leader of the Left Front in Nice and the Côte d’Azur, who criticizes the excessive commercial constructions in this area.

It was to be expected that the departmental commission for commercial development has just given its approval to the project for the installation of Ikea near the new stadium.

In total, more than 27,000 m² of commercial space will be added to the 29,000 m² of Nice One, the additional 35,000 m² of Cap 3000, not to mention the 70,000 m² of the Cagnes-sur-Mer polygon and what is likely to happen around the airport with its privatization in the fall.

This commercial overdevelopment, apart from inevitably leading to closures elsewhere, particularly in the city center, will definitively transform the Var plain into a series of parking lots and shopping centers.

Goodbye eco-valley, hello concrete valley!
