The Rythmo Tempo Cardio association, chaired by Claude-Jean Mariottini, was created to combat sudden death. Throughout the year, it organizes occasional events (concerts, conferences related to cardiology or scientific protocols) to collect donations.

The city of Nice, by deliberation on June 25, 2010, decided to support this association by granting a subsidy of €1500 and providing the Théâtre de Verdure free of charge for the organization of a charity concert by the group “The Low Budget Men.” This event took place on Tuesday, June 29, 2010. The proceeds from this concert enabled the acquisition of defibrillators.

On Thursday, December 16, the Rythmo Tempo Cardio association will hand over 10 defibrillators to the city of Nice, which will soon be installed in public buildings in Nice (sports, cultural, and community facilities) located in different neighborhoods of the city.

The city of Nice, in close collaboration with the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes, is developing sudden death prevention actions: The Departmental Plan was implemented by the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes to equip the municipalities in the department with defibrillators. The goal: that they are visible, accessible to the population, and used by everyone.

In Nice, 68 defibrillators are installed in various municipal buildings, including many of the city’s sports facilities, but also in establishments managed by private companies on behalf of the city under a public service delegation, such as Acropolis or the Palais Nikaïa.
