Dominique Estrosi-Sassone and Louis-Xavier Michel, president of La Semeuse, will present a check for 1,500 euros to the association Women’s Life this Tuesday, June 26.
This sum was raised by La Semeuse during the three performances of the play “The Vagina Monologues” by Eve Ensler, adapted by the company and given last March in Nice.
Women’s Life was chosen for its work in supporting women victims of violence, abuse, and discrimination.
The association’s goal is to raise public awareness about women’s rights. On March 17, it initiated a “flash mob” on Place Masséna. It also organized a march on March 31 in Nice to combat violence against women. It is currently working on a nautical event project: the “Nereide’s Cup – Women’s Challenge Trophy,” which will soon take place in Marseille, focusing on the theme of women in the Mediterranean.
This action surrounding the play “The Vagina Monologues” was made possible thanks to the support of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, which provided financial assistance of 5,000 euros to the association La Semeuse.
