A few weeks before the departure of the Dakar, the Nice native David Casteu, 2010 450cc motorcycle rally-raid world champion, and Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice, President of Nice Côte d’Azur, will present the Team Casteu – Dakar 2012 to the press.
On this occasion, Deputy Mayor Christian Estrosi will unveil the Yamaha 450 Rallye Raid that will participate in the Dakar 2012 under the colors of the city of Nice and will introduce the entire “Casteu” team.
– David Casteu was born in Nice in 1974.
In 2007: 2nd in the Dakar, 3rd in the Cross-Country Rallies World Championship (official KTM);
In 2008, he won the 1st Central Europe Rally Dakar Series (official KTM), finished 3rd at the BAJA ESPAÑA ARAGON, 3rd in the Sertões Rally, and 7th in the Sardinia Rally. It is his first victory in the World Championship (Pharaohs rally);
In 2009: David Casteu was 4th at the Dakar;
In 2010, the champion won the 1st stage of the Dakar in the 450cc category (official Sherco), reached the podium in the Sertões Rally, and became 450cc Cross-Country Rallies World Champion.
A “Team Casteu” bivouac on the Promenade des Anglais (opposite the Negresco), from 3 PM to 6 PM this Friday, November 18.
