In the presence of Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice, President of Nice Cรดte dโAzur, Jean-Michel Galy, Municipal Councilor for Senior Citizenship and Social Aid, Kaรฏ Holm, President of the IMGA (International Masters Games Association), and Jens V. Holm, General Director.
Last September, the IMGA (International Masters Games Association) selected the city of Nice as the host for the 2015 edition of the European Masters Games, which will take place from September 10 to 20.
During the press conference on Monday, December 12, Christian Estrosi and Kaรฏ Holm will officially sign the organization agreement for this event.
The flag of the European Masters Games will be symbolically handed over to the Deputy Mayor of Nice by the President of the IMGA, and details of the event’s organization will be provided.
Nice is the first city in France to host this major popular sporting event.
This significant multi-sport competition gathers over 5,000 “veteran” athletes from all around the globe in each edition. The last edition took place in Lignano, Italy, last September. The 2015 edition will allow all participants to choose from 24 disciplines offered across 15 venues.
The choice of Nice as the host city for the 2015 European Masters Games strengthens the municipality’s commitment to implementing a dynamic policy in favor of the 100,000 senior citizens of Nice.
