“How did the city of light, so beloved by painters, writers, poets… How did the very beautiful NICE get through those years of darkness and fog?”
It is this question that Viviane Harroch wished to answer by organizing this historical symposium in February 2016. The event aimed, through various segments, to revisit the dark period of 1940-1944 in Nice, by varying approaches from politics to culture, and scales from the city to the individual.
