Presentation of the Fall Detector Medallion

Latest News

On Monday, February 20, 2012, at 11 a.m., Mr. Eric Ciotti, President of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, will present the fall-detection medallion.

This medallion is an “intelligent” and discreet telecommunications system that allows elderly people to notify an assistance platform in case of a fall.

This device enables communication with an operator who has access to the necessary information and files to assist the person and inform their relatives.

This technology supports the elderly in their choice to remain at home by allowing them to maintain their autonomy. It also provides security for families, as falls at home are frequent accidents that can have serious consequences for vulnerable individuals.

The fall-detection medallion is fully aligned with the new directions of the 2012-2016 departmental gerontological plan, whose two major priorities are: “living well at home” and “promoting quality and innovation in service to seniors.”
