The Boombarstick Festival will be held from July 9 to 13 in Vodnjan, Croatia. It is an urban art and music festival in which a delegation from Nice will represent the city.
The festival project involves showcasing the creations of various artists on the walls of the small town of Vodnjan, located in the western part of Croatia in the Istrian region. The originality of this event lies in the contrast between the medieval setting and modern urban art. The Nice collective will be accompanied on site by another group from Belgrade, Serbia.
This year, the delegation from Nice consists of several artists and is led by Zonmรฉ. It includes specialists in spray painting like Jahwan, who contributed to the decorative murals of Zonmรฉ’s premises, as well as different music groups with varied styles: whether it be rock, funk, techno, or punk.
The cost of the trip is 3,530 euros, all expenses included. The trip’s funding will be achieved through various means: among them “Live Crowdfunding.” The principle is to collect donations and offer in return objects or works equivalent to the donations.
The Nice delegation will also organize two musical evenings “Funk for Croatia” which will contribute to the fundraising efforts.
Through the “Boombarstick Festival,” Zonmรฉ hopes to promote Nice’s urban art within the city to create a network to bring together the city’s artists.
