Presidential 2022: First Public Appearance of the Support Committee for Emmanuel Macron

Latest News

For Christian Estrosi, there is no ambiguity: “This committee brings together men and women who do not claim allegiance to any party but who see the President as the right person for France. The President has managed to implement essential reforms for the country and has always shown goodwill toward our region.”

So ahead we go…

.

First public appearance of the Coordination Committee for the candidacy (and re-election) of Emmanuel Macron, led by Claire Peradotto and Philippe Buerch. She, a woman, entrepreneur, and from Nice, and he, a man, practicing a liberal profession and originally from Cannes. With representation criteria respected, the balance is perfect.

Unlike usual, where support committees aim to promote one or more candidates to garner as many votes as possible, this time the ambition is elsewhere: to be a source of proposals with suggestions to be communicated to candidate Macron.
The approach is ambitious, and to achieve it, one must think outside the box: 5 commissions will work on key subjects. The synthesis of the working documents will be submitted to Christian Estrosi, who will act as a courier to ensure they reach their destination.

Illustrated by Claire Peradotto, comfortable in front of an audience of nearly 500 people, where her fellow business leaders were present in large numbers, the themes of environment/sustainable development, education/culture, security, economy, humanity at the center will form the content of the departmental platform of Macronists.

It is noteworthy that local LREM leaders have no role in this initiative, which is quite surprising, even if their presence in the region is virtually imperceptible! Only the deputy Loic Dombreval was in the room, probably as a “friend of animals”, Christian Estrosi jokingly remarked during his speech.

Among elected officials, the more notable presence was that of Joseph Ségura, mayor of Saint-Laurent du Var, but a few mayors and a good number of elected officials from Nice or the metropolitan area expressed support for the initiative.

This initiative, inspired and staged by Christian Estrosi, was defined as “an independent, cross-party approach” by those outside of “conventional politics”, in favor of regions and France.

It’s worth noting that by declaring himself “a man without a party”, the mayor of Nice, present at the evening as a guest (!), avoided any controversy, limiting himself to labeling the debate among LR primary candidates as a “radicality talent contest.”

Surely a good choice to avoid belligerent words reaching attentive ears present in the room and being reported to his declared rival Eric Ciotti, who is all fire and brimstone against his former friends and running mates – on the same day engaging in a war of words with Renaud Muselier. Moreover, when proposing the creation of a “French Guantanamo” (perhaps in his stronghold of Saint-Martin de Vésubie?), he doesn’t mince words to criticize those who don’t share his views.

In conclusion, a good kickoff for this committee before getting down to business once Emmanuel Macron’s candidacy is finalized. All the signs for good work are there. Christian Estrosi’s electoral propaganda machine has proven its worth on many occasions.

Let the orchestra begin to play: rock or slow?
