On the verge of signing the deal of the century, he has one last formality to attend to: the signature of his cousin Adrien, who owns 50% of the company. This idealistic dreamer, who constantly makes blunders and mistakes, is so happy to reunite with Pierre that he wants to spend time with him and delay the signing. Pierre has no choice but to take his cousin along on a more-than-eventful business trip where his patience will be put to the ultimate test,”* according to the Allo Cine website.
“Mon cousin,” a buddy movie
After an eleven-year hiatus since his last film “Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky,” director Jan Kounen returns with his feature film “Mon cousin.” Here, he places the two actors at the center of a buddy movie. Vincent Lindon portrays Pierre, the CEO of an international family company, who is well-off with a beautiful home and a perfect family life. François Damien, on the other hand, plays his cousin, Adrien, a completely lost character, somewhat “out of place,” and without ties. Two characters that are opposites in both their methods and lifestyles, yet they form a genuine duo throughout the movie. An unexpected tandem that leads to numerous bewildering situations during their journey.
An endearing duo
Despite the many differences between the two, they form an endearing duo connected by their family bond and childhood memories. Throughout the many comedic scenes, where Pierre loses his temper with Adrien, a few dreamlike scenes appear, showing sweet childhood memories between the two very close cousins at the time.
