The left-wing radicals are not backing down. They are renewing their request for open primaries to designate the head of the left-wing list for the 2014 municipal elections. Who is targeted? Patrick Allemand, of course, known for his difficult relations with the local PRG leader, who has already announced his candidacy while still declaring himself open to a primary if the national leadership of the PS decides so.

After such a success, it would be unthinkable not to expand this modern method of designation to the local level.
Evidently, an open primary to designate the head of the list for the municipal elections in Nice would allow the left to approach this election from a position of strength by choosing the best possible candidate, granting them strong legitimacy. It would thus foster the unity of the left, or even broader gatherings, by sparking a fruitful debate.
That is why the PRG 06 has officially reached out to all left-wing parties in the 06 (PS, PCF, PG, MRC, and EELV) to propose the implementation of such a procedureยฐ.
Potential candidates have already been heard, proving that there is no natural candidate ยฐยฐ.
However, Harlem Dรฉsir, the first secretary of the PS, stated on December 7th that “if we find ourselves with multiple candidacies, we can also consider primaries if we think it’s likely to give a stronger dynamic to the campaign. We will decide together, after having precisely studied the situation in each city, where there is a very important issue.”
For Nice, nothing has been decided yet: Therefore, time should no longer be wasted! That is why the left-wing radicals are directly approaching the people of Nice to get them to sign a petition requesting the organization of an open primary.ยฐยฐยฐ
