Arriving in the early afternoon at Nice airport, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, their delegation, as well as Christian Estrosi and Georges-Franรงois Leclerc then went to Villa Massรฉna to pay tribute to the victims of July 14, 2016, lay a wreath at the foot of the Memorial, and sign the guest book.
The royal couple’s visit continued in the surroundings of Nice, as Charles and Camilla headed to the village of Eze, which they wished to visit.
A meeting with the British community of the Cรดte d’Azur was also planned.
In the evening, a reception was held in honor of Their Royal Highnesses. During the ceremony, Christian Estrosi presented Prince Charles with a parchment naming him Honorary Citizen of the City of Nice.
The last royal visit to Nice took place in 1931.
After a night in the region, the prince and the duchess are expected to travel to Lyon this Tuesday, before returning to Nice tomorrow for a final stroll in the city center before their departure.
