The Stade Niçois failed to secure a third consecutive victory. They were defeated at home by Valence Romans (19-24).
After two consecutive wins, Alexandre Compan’s men wanted to confirm their form at home against Valence-Romans. However, they were shaken from the start of the match with a try from the Valencians in the third minute of play. Fortunately, the Nice team quickly bounced back and equalized thanks to their forward, Pupuma. This was followed by a kicking duel between Romain Riguet from Nice and Lucas Meret from Valence. In this contest, it was the visitor who gave his team a three-point lead at halftime. The score was (13-16) at the break.
Nice can’t make a comeback
As the teams returned from the break, they neutralized each other and observed. It wasn’t until the 62nd minute that Romain Riguet equalized for his team. But the joy was short-lived, as just three minutes later, Valence-Romans scored their second try, sealing the fate of the Nice team. Apart from a penalty from their kicker, Nice couldn’t get back into the game. Stade Niçois was defeated (19-24). The Azuréens ended their run of two consecutive victories and now sit in 14th place, one point ahead of the play-off team, Aurillac.
