Latest News

Facing their neighbor Provence Rugby, Stade Niçois secured a narrow victory (13-12) in front of their home crowd.

For their penultimate home game in Pro D2, Stade Niçois hosted their neighbor Provence Rugby. In completely opposite dynamics and standings, it was the team at the bottom of the ranking that managed to come out on top. The first half was low in points but not in action or intensity. Only one try was scored in this first half, credited to Aix. The score at halftime was 3 to 7.

Stade Niçois forces the decision

After another penalty by Flavio Asquini, the Niçois closed the gap to within one point of their evening opponents and put pressure on them. The home side’s intentions were good and were rewarded with a try from winger Baptiste Dutard, converted by Asquini. Despite a try from Aix, Alexandre Compan‘s men were able to withstand the Aix offensives and win this derby.

Even though they are already relegated to the Nationale, the Niçois have not given up this season and have shown a positive attitude to the end. The next home game is on May 16 for the final match of the season against Dax. Before then, the Niçois will travel in two weeks to the Colomiers field which is competing for a spot in the finals.
