Alexia De Medeiros, Student Vice-President of the University since last October 20th, elected by the CEVU (Council for Studies and University Life), granted us an interview to talk about this new experience.

I am 21 years old, of Togolese origin, and I completed a DUT in computer science, then I moved on to MIAGE (Applied Computer Methods for Business Management), and now I am in the second year of this MASTER’s program.
I was president of the DUT association, and I very much like everything that is associative. Not for political ambition but really for the associative side.
I
participated in UNS as President of the Info Students Office for a year, then I was also Treasurer of the MIAGE Students Office, and finally, President of the MIAGE Gala association.
And now, I was elected by the CEVU on October 20, 2011, by all the students.
Why all this involvement?
It’s something that I enjoy, I handle quite a few files, I want to create projects. For example, one point of my program was for students to be able to evaluate education within the University as a whole. And we would like to ensure that all the teachers at the university implement it.
A typical day of a Student Vice-President of the University?
Classes, appointments – I meet all the departments of the University to handle files – meetings, etc.
Do you have a budget?
No, apart from the BDE, we do not have one.
Would you like to add a few words?
Yes, I want to emphasize that I do not work alone, I am with all the elected representatives of each Campus, we work in groups.
