Registrations for the highly sought-after Prom’Classic, the first 10 km race in France, which runs back and forth along the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, have been open since last October 2nd.
Similar to last year, the race will start at 10 AM in waves, totaling 7, including a preferential start reserved for men under 35′ and women under 43′, followed by competitors who can justify a time between 35′ and 40′.
For several years now, the Prom’Classic has generated growing enthusiasm and usually sells out weeks before the start of this event, which has become a must for many running enthusiasts.
This year, to satisfy as many people as possible and address the disappointment of previous editions, the organization has decided to increase the registration limit and thus offers 10,000 bibs available.
New in 2016: the Mini-Prom’ for 8/9 year-olds and 10/11 year-olds
Driven by its equipment partner, Kalenji, whose motto is to inspire everyone to run, the Prom’Classic is opening up to the youngest among us this year by launching a new event: the Mini-Prom’.
Two race formats are thus offered: a 750 meter race for 8/9 year-olds and a 1.5 km race for 10/11 year-olds.
The start and finish of these races will take place on the Promenade des Anglais and will be preceded by a free group warm-up coached by Stéphane Diagana, world champion in the 400 m hurdles and product manager for Kalenji.
The two events will not be timed (therefore no medical certificate is required) but will be subject to a simple parental authorization. At the end of these events, the top three boys and girls will be awarded prizes.
