The competition will bring together athletes from around the world aged 35 and over next October. So, this Friday, July 17th, to boost word of mouth and, consequently, registrations, social media mobilized. The highlight was the launch of a big competition game, this morning at the Nice Office of Tourism and Conventions (OTC).
The numbers of participants and volunteers delight Rudy Salles. And for good reason, the figures are promising and ahead of previous editions. The Deputy Mayor of Nice in charge of tourism is pleased to discuss the 3,000 athletes present and the 500 volunteers ready to welcome them.
Some spots are still available in the various disciplines (โฌ160 and โฌ100 for locals), and it is now possible to win them by participating in a quiz competition. A competition available on the sites and social media of the host city and the OTC. Lucky winners will receive at least a registration to the European Masters Games, and they can also get 2 hotel nights. Additionally, quiz winners can obtain French Riviera Passes, a card that allows them to visit cultural sites in the Nice metropolitan area. The game will end on August 17th.
Nice, an obvious choice to host the EMG
Other communication strategies are emerging through the signing of a convention between the city of Nice and the OTC for the event’s advertisement. Among them are the sending of information emails to registrants to keep them engaged, and the presence of promotional materials at various points in the cityโs tourism offices (Railway Station, Terminals, Paillon Promenade, etc.).
Rudy Salles believes that hosting the EMG is only logical. He mentions “the 60% of foreign clientele” visiting Nice, classifying the city as the second national tourist destination after Paris. He also emphasizes the importance of boosting the city’s economy during a period when tourism tends to slow down. The OTC Director, Denis Zanon, aims to “convince that at any age, one can engage in sports.”
Looking forward to October…
