Xavier Michel, President of La Semeuse: “The Centre Culturel de La Providence is a place for cultural awareness in Nice.” The center has been equipped with facilities for people with reduced mobility to accommodate as many people as possible.
The Centre Culturel de La Providenceโformer chapel, owned by the Fondation de Cessoleโhas been managed for many years by the association La Semeuse, which develops cultural and artistic activities aimed at being accessible to the largest audience. The venue hosts concerts, exhibitions, meet-ups, conferences, and readings throughout the season, but also artist residencies (the “B.A.L.” theater company and the Ancient Music Society Ensemble of Nice).
A cultural center now accessible to everyone.
To notably improve access for people with reduced mobility, significant work has been undertaken:
– Various access improvements,
– Installation of an elevator,
– Creation of a small amphitheater allowing for outdoor performances,
– Beautification of the parvis.
The city of Nice has granted a subsidy of โฌ60,000 to the Fondation de Cessole for these projects.
