PS referendum for left-wing unity: will the 250,000 “yes” votes change the game?

Latest News

The PS Secretary Cambadelis announces 251,327 voters, including 135,027 at the polls and 116,300 online, for the referendum organized by his party to ask voters their opinion on the left-wing alliance policy.

This result is in line with forecasts which expected 200,000 to 300,000 voters. The Yes logically winning with more than 89%. Will it be enough for the communists and the greens to return to the fold from the first round of the regional elections?

In any case, the accusation in the event of (very) poor results is already ready and written.

More than 2,500 voters in the Alpes-Maritimes polling stations

In the Alpes-Maritimes, it was with an overwhelming “yes” (96.97%, or 2,496 YES against 46 NO) that the 2,544 voters in the referendum for left-wing unity in the regional elections expressed themselves in the 42 polling stations set up by the Socialist Party from Friday morning to Sunday evening throughout the department.

These numbers do not include the online vote, which is counted nationally.

“We were not surprised by the score but by the number of voters, many voters understood the stakes of this consultation. The latest poll, which places Marion Marรฉchal Le Pen at the top of voting intentions, shows how important left-wing unity is in the PACA region,” says Xavier GARCIA, the first secretary of PS 06.
