Public consultations for a new port in Nice

Latest News

On July 10th, following a consultative commission, the renovation project for the new port of Nice was unveiled. Significant transformations were anticipated, with the primary goal being the improvement of the urban quality of port spaces. The work, which is expected to begin in 2009, will focus on public spaces so that the port becomes “a space for culture and entertainment.” Planned developments include: new parking lots, the redevelopment of areas designated for cyclists, a waterfront esplanade encouraging pedestrian strolls, an expansion of the docks, and an enhancement of Place Ile de Beauté.

For the occasion, a public meeting will be organized jointly by the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes and the City of Nice on Thursday, September 25th.

The main orientations of the project, along with registers in which opinions can be recorded, will be made available to the public during these public consultations, which will take place from Monday, September 15th to Tuesday, September 30th, 2008 at the Forum of Urbanism and Architecture – Maison des Projets, Place Pierre Gautier at the following times:

8:30 AM to 5:00 PM from Monday to Thursday
8:30 AM to 4:00 PM on Friday
9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday morning

All observations can be submitted in writing to the Deputy Mayor, President of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, during the consultation period, and they will then be added to the registers.
