Public presentation of the new work by Christian Estrosi.

A man of action more than reflection, Christian Estrosi likes, from time to time, to venture into literary endeavors with the audacity of a former motorcycle racing champion who knows how to take risks and to whom speed is not intimidating.

His first two attempts, in 2011 and 2013, did not leave an indelible impression.

But, as the saying goes, good things come in threes.

This year, the politician from Nice is launching a new book, in the form of an interview with journalist Maurice Szafran. Titled “Everything Must Change,” it suggests a “revolutionary” stance that, as always, ends up unfolding into rhetoric.

In reality, his economic liberalism is not easily reconciled with social Gaullism, and the all-authoritarian stance conflicts with the values of a republican right.

And around fifty pages to present his version of the events of the tragedy that struck “his” Nice on July 14th resembles more of a settling of scores than a serene description of the facts.

That being said, it is important to highlight and acknowledge the words of co-author Maurice Szafran in conclusion: “I discovered a character in the grip of a saving doubt, constantly seeking to improve, trying to escape the numerous caricatures that pursue him, of which he is, for the most part, responsible.”

An appropriate definition found in the character who dedicates his work to “all those who want to take the path of truth.” Nothing less…

Only by reading the entire book will we see if the prophecy holds true!

Public presentation with signing, this Thursday from 6 p.m. at the Jean-Jaures bookstore.
