France has become the champion country in the hunt for politically incorrect small phrases.
Apart from J.L Mรฉlenchon, the first person to say what they think is subjected to journalistic exegesis, forced to apologize, and then pardoned or executed depending on whether the public demands their head or not.
THE FIRST TO SPEAK THE TRUTH…
The revelations of MEDIAPART about the tribulations of French football indeed reflect this French flaw where the inability to solve problems generally finds its outlet in virtuous commitment and promising statements, rather than in the expression of truth.
When leaders dare to openly talk about the skin color of our footballers, itโs collective outrage … as if no one noticed that our national team has long represented a band of black players with a few white ones mixed in … as if no one knew that these same black players have, more than their size or speed, a more relaxed playing style, perhaps less rigorous than that of the white players … as if no one questioned the causes of this lack of diversity among the members of the French team and French clubs…
Why shouldnโt we have the right (and perhaps the duty) to say that the density of black players in French football is a result of the practices of scouts and agents of all kinds who engage with clubs to go to Africa to seek out these young players, to whom they offer the illusion of a spectacular career, many of whom end up stranded in our country with no other alternative than to swell the ranks of unemployed youth in urban areas.
Why not address the issue of โcolor discriminationโ in the workforce and acknowledge that football has become an โexpiatoryโ niche in response to our inability to integrate black individuals into this world. So yes, we must have the courage to affirm that we love diversity with a multicolored team, rather than a white, black, or grey team, like some countries that associate efficiency with skin color.
Itโs time to say that while limiting the number of players of the same skin color is absurd, mixing colors benefits everyone.
And football in particular.
