Ramdam: What is this original bar-store-music-expo concept?

Latest News

Ramdam, music, exhibition, bar… Inaugurated on Friday, July 5, with Christian Estrosi, discover this original LGBTQIA+ friendly bar located in the port district of Nice.

The Ramdam is, above all, a place of encounters and art. Robert and Raphaรซl Bellon are the owners. Married for 23 years, this project in the port district brings together their common interest: art. โ€œOur life is driven by our passion for art in all its forms: sculpture, painting, photography, writing, fashion design,โ€ Robert explains.

Thus, Ramdam would be a unique address of its kind in France, but also abroad, as the tourists’ comments proudly testify, explain the two lovers.

โ€œWhen you hear that a bar displays art, you imagine artworks where people are consuming. We have an entire room dedicated to the exhibition,โ€ Raphaรซl proudly shares.

Originally, the couple wanted to buy the Malabar. Finally, after two years of reflection: Ramdam comes to life. It’s a new pop universe. The walls are colorful, painted, arranged in a flamboyant design.

With a DJ set, cocktails, renewed exhibitions, and meetings with people like Jean-Paul Cluzel, Christian Lacroix, Philippe Joanny… Ramdam offers an eccentric world where opportunities are created. Notably through organized encounters that allow sharing “someone’s experience that can enlighten us on their life journey.” But also through art.

The artist Eros exhibits at Ramdam

Eros is the fourth artist to present his work in this bar, and he is proud of it. And for a good reason! He is also the bartender. This Armenian with a challenging life journey, stigmatized in his own country, quickly became part of the Ramdam project: โ€œIt was like a dream. When I met Robert and Raphaรซl, they told me I would do my exhibit in their bar,โ€ he recalls, moved.

Some artworks that reflect his personality, some over 12 years old, amidst plays of shadow and light. โ€œIn those moments, when I was alone, drawing was like seeing a therapist,โ€ he concludes.

This address is an opportunity to “discover interesting exhibitions in a place where you feel good,โ€ explains Frรฉderic Malvetti, a regular. Even if “you don’t always connect every time,โ€ you might end up pleasantly surprised by someone’s talent, “as is the case with Eros’s work,” he adds.

The Ramdam is located at 3 rue Lascaris, in Nice.
