This Wednesday, April 26 at 1:30 PM, journalists Guilaine Chenu and Franรงoise Joly will take part in an event at the Nice Detention Center and present their book “The World of Envoyรฉ Spรฉcial from A to Z.”
Guilaine Chenu is a journalist. She holds a DEUG in Literature, a Bachelorโs degree in Literature, and a Masterโs degree in Literature from the University of Paris IV Sorbonne. She began her career as a freelance journalist for the magazines “Lire” and “Starfix” from 1983 to 1986. She joined TF1 as a journalist in 1984, first in the General News department, and then in the Politics department.
In 1994, she joined the Political department of France 2 as a Senior reporter, covering the travels of the President and the Prime Minister around the world. She also covered the 1995 presidential campaign and the 1997 legislative campaign. From 1998 to 2000, she produced about ten reports for “Envoyรฉ Spรฉcial,” including “10 Days at Matignon” and “Should We Fear Austria.” From 2001 to 2016, she directed and presented the weekly magazine alongside Franรงoise Joly.
Franรงoise Joly is a journalist. She holds a Bachelorโs degree in Economic Sciences, is a graduate of the Institute of Political Studies of Grenoble, and holds a Masterโs degree from the CUEJ of Strasbourg. She began her career at Radio France as a reporter in 1985, then joined France 2 as a reporter in the Economy and Social department in 1987.
Starting in 1989, she became a Senior reporter in foreign politics on France 2, covering foreign news for the 1 PM and 8 PM TV news programs. She also produced about ten reports for “Envoyรฉ Spรฉcial.” In 1994, she became deputy service chief of the foreign politics department on France 2, and editor-in-chief in 1997. From 2001 to 2016, she directed and presented the weekly magazine “Envoyรฉ Spรฉcial” on France 2, alongside Guilaine Chenu.
Franรงoise Joly won the 1st prize at the International Festival of Great News Reporting (FIGRA) for her report “Silence, We’re Killing,” and the Public Prize at the Festival des Yeux d’Or for her report “The Palestinian Purge.”
