Reception of 14 young New Caledonians

Latest News

Monday, October 15, 14 young New Caledonians from Noumea will be welcomed at Nice City Hall by Rudy Salles and Joรซlle Martinaux on the occasion of a trip to Mainland France that they have organized with the support of Noumea City Hall.

Aged 18 to 30, these young people live in the Vallรฉe du Tir neighborhood in Noumea and are originally from the different provinces of New Caledonia (North, South, Islands). They are all members of the Association of Young People of the Vallรฉe du Tir (AJVALL) and plan to visit several cities in Mainland France from November 9 to 26.

These young people wish to travel across France to meet associations and groups of active young people in their neighborhood, village, city…

The project aims to develop exchanges with young people from Mainland France by sharing their experiences. It also aims to promote their country, culture, and lifestyles through sculptures, photos, and videos.

They will be supervised by two adult leaders from the association and two community educators whose deployment by the city to the association has been requested for the duration of the stay.

During their trip, these Noumeans will use photography, IT (maintaining a blog), and sound to share with the Caledonians their encounters and report back on their visits upon their return.

The city of Noumea has been twinned with the city of Nice since 1985. Few exchanges are organized between our two cities. The reception of these 14 New Caledonians could be the first step towards future collaborations between our two cities. During their stay in Nice, they will visit the city, the Alpha Wolf Park, and meet local associations.
