What if the truth wasn’t what everyone thinks they know? That is the question at the heart of “Reconstitution”, a play by Agatha Christie that will be presented on Friday, October 30 at the Théâtre de la Cité in Nice.
The story begins when Carla, now an adult, discovers the tragic circumstances of her parents’ death. Her father, a renowned painter, was found dead in front of his last canvas. Her mother, Caroline, accused of poisoning him, subsequently took her own life in prison.
Sixteen years after the events, Carla refuses to believe in her mother’s guilt. Determined to uncover the truth, she decides to reunite all those present the evening of the tragedy to reconstruct the events.
Memories, testimonies and contradictions will then call into question everyone’s certainties. But what really happened? What if the person condemned by public opinion was not the real culprit?
A company driven by young talent from Nice
Behind this adaptation is Florent Bonetto, a director from Nice, and the Compagnie Les Saltimbarques.
Composed of artists who graduated from the Cours Florent in Paris, the troupe wishes to introduce the Côte d’Azur public to their interpretation of this crime thriller, where suspense mingles with emotions and family dramas.
The show has already received recognition: the female performance award at the last Autumn Stage festival of the Côte d’Azur, an encouraging acknowledgement for this young artistic team.
