Cardiac arrests, domestic accidents, natural disasters… We are all vulnerable!
Get trained for free this Saturday in Nice with the French Red Cross on the occasion of World First Aid Day.
This day aims to mobilize and raise public awareness about the importance of first aid in saving lives.
On Saturday, volunteers will aim to improve the understanding of the crucial role first aid plays in everyday life as well as in emergency situations, for the prevention of accidents and illnesses, and for the integration of marginalized groups in society.
Every 10 minutes in France, one person dies from cardiac arrest.
Each year, 53,000 people fall victim, and without immediate care, more than 90% die from it.
However, if all witnesses to cardiac arrest practiced cardiac massage and used defibrillators, nearly three times more people could be saved.
In Nice, 68 defibrillators are installed in various municipal buildings, including many of the city’s sports facilities, as well as in establishments managed by private companies under a public service delegation, such as at the Acropolis or the Palais Nikaïa, for example.
This World First Aid Day will be an opportunity for the people of Nice to become familiar with and trained in their use.
