The Nice Cรดte dโAzur Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented accounts for the 2014 fiscal year with, for the first time in the history of the Nice Cรดte dโAzur CCI, a negative result, excluding port concessions and subsidiaries, of nearly 8 million euros. This was primarily due to a decrease in the TFC* revenue and an exceptional charge corresponding to the state’s withdrawal from the working capital and investment fund; all this despite efforts to anticipate by refocusing on its core business and rationalizing activities and organization.
From an accounting perspective, the 2014 budget presented consolidated revenue of 73.39 million euros against 81.06 million in expenses. Investments amounted to 23.91 million euros.
For Bernard Kleynhoff, President of the Nice Cรดte dโAzur CCI, itโs “YES to an exceptional contribution from the CCIs of France to the national effort, NO to a confiscatory or even arbitrary, diversionary levy. By drawing 6.62 million euros from our Working Capital and Investment fund, it is our ability to act for businesses and invest in the economic future of the territories that is being challenged.”
The Nice Cรดte dโAzur CCI also warns of the inequitable regional distribution of the business tax for chamber of commerce and industry expenses (TFC). Companies and the territory of the Alpes-Maritimes are thus penalized.
In 2014, the Nice Cรดte dโAzur CCI supported more than 10,000 businesses and trained over 1,000 learners in the fields of automotive, nautical, pharmacy, and commerce.
Despite this threatened financial context, the Nice Cรดte dโAzur CCI continues its mission to serve the public interest, with actions funded by the TFC, including:
