After the Dragons crowned the German crew of Michaël Schmidt on Friday, the Régates Royales-Trophée Panerai concluded this Saturday in a gentle east wind.
The seventy-nine Traditional Yachts enjoyed ideal conditions all week in the bay of Cannes and will set off this Sunday morning for Saint-Tropez.
But above all, this 37th edition once again shows that the Classic Sails have found new momentum with a fleet of regulars and some newcomers: see you in 2016 for an even more majestic gathering!
In fact, the Régates Royales-Trophée Panerai, an unmissable event in classic yachting, once again demonstrated that the owners are incredible enthusiasts who align majestically beautiful sailboats with increasingly skilled crews as the editions go by, given the maneuvers and tactical challenges they undertake.
“This 37th edition of the Régates Royales-Trophée Panerai went superbly. And the public responded: from 35,000 people usually, we approached 50,000 this time… The show was once again on!” concluded Pascal Gard, manager of the Cannes Regatta Society.
“There was also the Dragon fleet with thirty-eight one-designs coming from all over Europe: Germany, Great Britain, Finland, Russia, Estonia, the Netherlands, Sweden, Italy, Denmark, Switzerland, Turkey alongside the ten French crews… With a very high level of racing! I learned a lot for this first responsibility in this event,” stated Jacques Flori, President of the Cannes Yacht Club
