The initial 2017 budget for the Paca Region has just been adopted in a plenary session by the majority led by Christian Estrosi (LR), without the votes of the FN opposition led by Marion Maréchal-Le Pen, who voted against it. Its amount is 1,368 million euros.
For the Front National members, “the outcome is disastrous.” They explain: “During the regional elections campaign, Christian Estrosi promised anything and everything to get the votes of… anyone. A year after his election, it’s time for a review, and it is not glorious.”
In contrast, the highly communicative president of the Region has expressed his full satisfaction: according to a poll, 51% of the residents have a good image of this collectivity, and 46% consider his record positive.
For him, many initiatives have already been taken and implemented despite a legacy far from being financially reassuring, as an audit by KPMG, a specialized company, would like to demonstrate.
The stock of debt surpasses the annual budget, which forces the Region to prioritize debt repayment over investment. The debt reduction ratio is 9.8 years (alert limit at 15).
