Eric Ciotti asked his party, the Republicans (LR), to withdraw their support for Renaud Muselier because of the presence of members of LREM on his list for the regional elections.
“I will not support Renaud Muselier’s list in Paca and I also call to withdraw LR’s support for him,” stated Eric Ciotti in a message to AFP, who is also the president of the party’s nomination committee. “It will be without me,” he insisted.
R. Muselier confirms his alliance with LREM directly negotiated with the Élysée. Macron’s manipulation succeeded thanks to the fragile convictions of a few for whom positions take precedence over values. For me, politics is not that. Shame and sadness. It will be without me.
I think of my friend the senator, Philippe Tabarot, an outgoing, effective, and competent regional councilor who was sidelined for an unnatural alliance between Renaud Muselier and En Marche. Sacrificing one’s own for positions is not my conception of loyalty in politics.
When asked about the tensions with the LR deputy from Alpes-Maritimes Eric Ciotti, Renaud Muselier questions: “Mr. Ciotti must know which camp he is in: is he in the National Rally camp, one never really knows, or is he in the camp of the republican right that aligns with the center, the reasonable people?”
