Regional Elections in PACA: Christian Estrosi Moves His Pieces Forward

Latest News

In the heart of his electoral campaign, Christian Estrosi presented his support committee last night in Antibes, co-chaired by Bernadette Chirac and Jean-Claude Gaudin.

131 personalities are part of it. A fine assembly, with well-known names, long-time friends and accomplices, others whose reasons for allegiance are understandable, and yet others whose presence is rather puzzling.

A potpourri that has the merit of highlighting the rooting of the mayor of Nice and his ability to mobilize people around him. After decades of wielding power, there are not a few who owe him favors.

It is known that Christian Estrosi loves grand ceremonies and grandiose speeches with an aggressive punch: we ultimately had both during a syrupy, melodious evening with multiple interventions of dishearteningly simplistic and Manichean nature.

When we hear Mrs. Bernadette Chirac express her view that “Christian Estrosi is the guardian of the Republic’s values,” we are compelled to ask, “Is that all?” And to think that the Holy Roman Church is right when it allows its servants, even the most illustrious, upon reaching a certain age, to dedicate themselves to rest rather than action.

Christian Estrosi is a serious candidate who deserves better than this magnified insignificance!

He knows the battle is tough and that, in case of success, the task will be heavy and require all his commitment. He is also aware of the moral responsibility that comes with it: “Aspiring to the presidency of our region means being accountable for a few years of its history, in the eyes of our forebearers who struggled so much for it, and our children who expect so much from us,” he himself says.

Thus, amidst the noisy crowd of “vulgus pecus,” we will retain the sober and clear voice of the academician Max Gallo: “I support Christian Estrosi. I express the wish that he be our next president of the PACA Region.”

It’s simple and well said.
