Regional Elections in PACA: Clash Between Gaël Nofri and Debout la France

Latest News

Debout La France had advocated for “uncompromising neutrality,” with Gaël Nofri personally declaring his intention to vote for Christian Estrosi. The conclusion?

The party of Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, Debout La France, announced the resignation of Gaël Nofri, its lead candidate in the Alpes-Maritimes.

“Gaël Nofri wished to resign from Debout La France to regain his freedom of expression. While we regret this decision, we accept his resignation following Mr. Nofri’s public stances contrary to the movement’s position,” announced DLF in a statement.

Gaël Nofri began his political career with the RPF led by Charles Pasqua, later working with the cabinet of Jacques Peyrat, then mayor of Nice, followed by a stint with Éric Ciotti’s office for eighteen months at the general council.

Without joining the FN, he later became an advisor to Marine Le Pen during the 2012 presidential campaign.

As campaign director for the FN and a candidate in the Nice municipal elections of 2014, he left the Frontist group with other officials due to a disagreement with the lead candidate Marie-Christine Arnautu and formed the Independent Elected Officials group. He became a municipal councilor following the resignation of an official from his group.

His time with DLF was short-lived.

We’ll see what comes next…
