As they say in such circumstances: we move from words to actions. After much hesitation, the dissent of certain former supporters of Marine Le Pen’s new party course is starting to take shape.
Lydia Schenardi, former number 1 of the FN in the Alpes-Maritimes before the arrival of Marie-Christine Arnautu, joins the far-right deputy mayor of Orange, Jacques Bompard, for the regional elections.
Lydia Schenardi, who is now a municipal councilor in Menton, resigned from the FN in August and will thus run on this “union of the rights” list.
More or less gradually pushed aside from the party’s leadership at the local level, the woman from Grasse also did not accept the sidelining of Jean-Marie Le Pen, to whom her late husband (a politician himself) was very close.
We will know more after the publication of the electoral lists, which is expected soon, to see if this defection will be the only one or the signal of an exodus.
