Regional elections in PACA: MoDem towards a single list with Christian Estrosi

Latest News

The language is deliberately cryptic, but the meaning is nonetheless clear: the MoDem will forgo its own list and will ally with Christian Estrosi in the upcoming December regional elections. A well-crafted text will be enough to settle the matter.

A good move for the right-wing candidate, who will avoid the presence of a list that, at least potentially, could have chipped away a few percentage points from the vote total, which will be valuable to him in the final count.

Fabien BENARD, President of the Democratic Movement of Alpes-Maritimes, and Jean-Franรงois FOUQUร‰, Departmental Delegate, expressed themselves as follows:

โ€œChristian Estrosi, head of the Republican list, has publicly stated, several times and clearly, his desire to build the broadest possible majority by opening it up particularly to the Democratic Movement and to personalities from civil society.

The leaders of MoDem Provence Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur have decided to respond to this outstretched hand by opening a public dialogue to explore the paths for a possible broad and new coalition, starting in the first round.

This now-open dialogue is, for us, a necessity to create a new political landscape in our region and to demonstrate the real willingness of each party to propose an ambitious and realistic alternative to the residents of PACA.โ€
