In a statement released, the LGBT Center expresses its views on the electoral result: “The election of Christian Estrosi as president of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region is a relief.”
Ms. Maréchal-Le Pen had promised to cut subsidies to social actors who support people who are discriminated against, vulnerable, or questioning, such as lesbian, gay, bi, trans associations or associations like Family Planning.
The LGBT associations of our region, under the leadership of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur LGBT Center, rallied between the two rounds to call for defeating the National Front. We are therefore pleased to see that the Republicans and progressives mobilized in the second round to block hatred and exclusion.
We are ready to continue working with the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region for equality, respect, the reduction of discrimination, and to facilitate access for everyone, especially young people, to prevention and health.
