If elected on Sunday for a second term, Renaud Muselier commits to creating “a representative committee of the ecological and social assembly.” He announced this during a public conference.
This committee, composed of the nine ecological and left-wing formations and about twenty members, will have three prerogatives. Before each plenary assembly and permanent commission, members can propose two deliberations, one wish, and one motion. Additionally, at the beginning of each year, a committee representative can speak in the plenary assembly to give a general policy speech. Finally, the committee can be received by the regional president and his executive to advance files and maintain dialogue.
This is an olive branch extended to Jean-Laurent Félizia’s list, which ultimately withdrew from the second round to call for voting for Renaud Muselier and against Thierry Mariani’s National Rally.
We shall see with the test of time whether this will be concrete or an illusion.
