It was in a rural setting (how could it be otherwise when claiming to represent the working class?) that Thierry Mariani presented his running mates, specifying that the composition of his list was guided by two imperatives: “competence and convictions.”
In detail, the departmental lists are led by 3 women and 3 men. Among these lead candidates, 2 are lead candidates from unity groups who are not members of the RN (Louis Albrand in the 05 and Alexandra Masson in the 06).
The list is composed of 68 local elected officials, among whom are 21 outgoing regional councilors (half of the elected officials from 2015), 5 departmental councilors, 3 mayors, and 4 deputy mayors.
Alongside the candidates from the RN, there are 8 candidates from the Popular Right, 2
candidates from the Vanguard (a movement led by former Defense Minister Charles Millon), 1 candidate from the CNIP (National Center of Independents and Peasants), 2 candidates from the French Future (which includes sovereignist leaders and elected officials from DLF), 10 from various-rights and 11 “non-partisan” candidates from civil society.
Thus, 34 candidates, a quarter of the list, are not members of the RN.
