The Region organized the synthesis day of the Regional Sports Meetings at the Resource, Expertise and Sports Performance Center in Aix-en-Provence.
The Olympic movement was naturally represented, with Ivan Coste-Maniere, President of the CROS Cรดte d’Azur, and Pierre Marinรฉ, President of the CROS Provence-Alpes, at the podium.
“The Region is committed strategically, in terms of resources, and in dialogue for sports, in terms of performance as well as economic, social, and regional developments, social cohesion, equal opportunities, transversality, and synergy. It was therefore absolutely obvious that the Olympic and sports movement I preside over supports an initiative as promising and hopeful as this.
I adhere to this sustainable, enduring, and visionary logic of sports within a framework of structure, projects, and master plans that unfold in the long term. Building an edifice that withstands economic or political shocks to ensure that our associations, Committees, or Leagues can sustain jobs, progress actions, performance improvements, and regional networking, from urban areas to the most remote rural areas of our large and magnificent Region… for which the Olympic and sports project had to be negotiated democratically, unanimously, unifyingly, and committedly.”
