This Monday, September 11, at the Charles Nรจgre Photography Museum in Nice, the presentation of the โReopen the Worldโ artist residency of summer 2023 took place.
This summer again, the Ministry of Culture implemented an artist residency called โReopen the Worldโ. This initiative aims to offer all audiences the opportunity to become active participants in the cultural sector during the summer. The city of Nice embraced this initiative and willingly agreed to participate in the project. The residency was held from July 10 to 24, 2023. Multidisciplinary workshops were orchestrated by Albane Noor, a photographer, and Johanna Piraino, a musician. All in partnership with two Nice-based associations, lโEntre-Pont and ALC. This year the workshop was dedicated to isolated mothers. Photographic and musical workshops were organized, and nine mothers participated with their children.
Presentation of the Residency
The artists, representing associations, the museum team, a representative of the municipality, as well as the mothers who participated in the residence, were present. The photos were displayed at the speed of the musical notes played by Johanna and her accordion. The natural photos represented the beauty of the moment between a mother and her child.
This residency aimed to provide a cultural opening for young mothers to open up to the world.
